By default, Report-IT uses the following network ports relating to Audio streaming:
- Outgoing/Incoming TCP port 9002 for session communications with a studio codec.
- Outgoing/Incoming UDP port 9000 for audio streaming with a studio codec.
In addition to this, Report-IT also uses passive FTP for file transfers:
- Outgoing TCP port 21 for command.
- Outgoing TCP random port greater than 1023 for data.
In version 2.2 of Report-IT, the TCP Session and UDP Audio ports may be changed from the Advanced connection settings in the Configuration screen. As of version 2.3, these settings are now located in the Codec screens where the address is specified. In addition to this, version 2.3 of Report-IT Live also allows URLs to be used to identify codecs. These also include configuration for these ports. The URL is automatically generated as you change these settings and can be copied and pasted using the standard iPhone clipboard mechanism into other Apps such as mail or sms.
Ensure that the TCP Session Port on your studio codec is also appropriately changed in order for Report-IT to connect.
Future versions of Report-IT may provide an option to use active FTP, however this will probably not be very useful for use over 3G networks due to the NATS/Firewalls they generally employ. |
